How to fill the pantry
Your pantry is based on your receipts and anything you add yourself. Bryti does its best to estimate what you have at home. The pantry is not a precise stock list. It shows what Bryti has found on receipts, in photos, or in your notes. The older the information, the less certain Bryti is.The shopping list checks your pantry to avoid adding items you already have.
Reading it
The rows are grouped into Use soon, Likely available, and Uncertain. Each row shows when Bryti last saw the food, or says “use within 2 days” if there’s a date. When time is running out, a row will show Use first or Use soon. If you bought the same food twice, the older date is used. The row also shows the amount, like “800 g · 300 g use within 2 days”.Use Filter by place to view only the fridge or freezer. Search what's at home helps you find a food. If there’s no match, you can add it with the name already filled in.What is left after the plan
A row under Use soon considers your weekly plan. For example, “Cream · 1 dl left” means the rest is already planned for. Put it in the week opens the week to show the suggestion that uses it.Foods not meant for dinner, such as spreads, drinks, and sweets, are marked Not dinner food, nothing to plan and do not have a button.Adding food
Add observation offers four ways to add food: Photograph a receipt, Photograph the fridge or cupboard for one place at a time, Scan a barcode, and Type it in. You can also paste text from an online order, which works like a receipt. The Type it in form is just for adding a food. It asks for What, How much, Where, and Best before. You can leave the amount and date blank if you want.If you already have the food, the form shows your current amount and what it will be after adding more. If you have less at home than Bryti expected, tap the link below. Then the row takes the number you entered instead. If you don’t enter an amount, Bryti just notes that the food was seen today. To use some or move it, open the row and tap Adjust.Scan a barcode
Hold the barcode inside the frame. This works on both your phone and the web, where your browser uses the camera. If Open Food Facts recognizes the product, you’ll see its name, brand, pack size, and how processed it is.If the product is above the Open Food Facts limit, you’ll see a message like “High sugar · 54 g per 100 g” or “High salt · 1.8 g per 100 g”. If it’s below the limit or there’s no data, nothing is shown.Add to the pantry opens a form with the details already filled in. If Bryti knows the product but not its type, you only need to enter it once. After that, Bryti remembers it for anyone who scans the same product. If you see Couldn't find the product, Open Food Facts doesn’t know the barcode yet. That happens with quite a few everyday Norwegian products. Add it yourself opens an empty form.Adults can also select Contribute to Open Food Facts. Bryti will then send the name, brand, and pack size to Open Food Facts, where it is public under Bryti’s account. You’ll be notified before anything is sent, and only the barcode and what you enter are shared—nothing about your household.NoteIf the phone blocks the camera, you get a link to Settings. In a browser, you allow it from the address bar, and the camera only works over https.
Bryti reads receipts or photos line by line and only highlights the ones that need checking. You can correct a name, amount, or place, set Best before for fresh meat, fish, and dairy with one tap, or remove a line.Bryti does not save anything until you confirm. Each line is saved as just the food name, so “Chicken fillet 550g” becomes “Chicken fillet”.Worth knowingAfter a shopping trip, everything you checked off appears here. Your receipt will fill in any remaining items later.
Keeping it right
- Tap a row to choose Still have it, Adjust, or It's gone. If you undo “gone”, the food returns just as it was. On your phone, you can also swipe a row right for “still have”, left to adjust, or all the way across for “gone”.
- In Adjust, you can also move the food to another place, such as the freezer, or set its best-before date.
- Go through the uncertain ones reviews the uncertain rows one card at a time. For each card, you answer still here, gone, or Skip, and you can undo your choices as you go.
- Rows nobody has confirmed for a long time are hidden under “Show old”, but Bryti does not delete them. Under “…”, Clean up clears one place, and Clear everything at the bottom clears everything. Both options ask for confirmation first.
- At the end, you’ll see Go through the old ones with the same cards and the same two answer choices.
Two rows, one food
If the same food appears on two rows—one from your shopping trip and one from the receipt—the banner Looks like the same food shows both with their amounts. If you choose Merge or No, different, Bryti will not ask about that pair again. You can also merge them yourself using Merge on a row.Merged foods lists all your answers, with Split them again and, for those you rejected, Ask me again.NoteIf the list has both “cheese 130 g” and “cheese 3 pcs”, Bryti asks once what one cheese weighs in your kitchen. From then on, your answer joins the two, and the row shows “One cheese ≈ 130 g”, with Change and Forget.
If Share what your groceries weigh is enabled, Bryti might already have an approximate answer from other households.Go to the pantry
