The family dinner planner for your weekly meal plan

Superheroes have better things to do than worry about dinner.

Bryti is a dinner planner that plans your week and puts together the shopping list. It even keeps track of what you already have at home. Save your superpowers for homework and playtime with the family, or for fighting the occasional fire-breathing monster that turns up uninvited.
Right now, new families need a code to join. Bryti emails you one when it's your turn.

Your weekly dinners, planned around the family calendar.

Mission 01 · Sunday night

Someone has to decide. Five different tastes, one allergy, and Wednesday's guest doesn't eat gluten.

Bryti plans the week's dinners.

Type “plan the week” in the app. Bryti suggests a dinner for every day. It works around what each of you likes. It allows for allergies and guests too. It can read the family calendar, so on evenings when you're short on time, you get a quick dinner. Don't like a suggestion? Swap it with one tap.
How it works
Just tell Bryti what you like to eat, as if you're texting a friend. There are no forms to fill out.
Step 1 of 4

Mission 02 · Monday falls apart

It's half past four. Ingrid needs to be picked up from football, and Jakob has homework due tomorrow.

Message Bryti when the day falls apart.

You can text Bryti just like you would a friend. If you say “we're short on time today”, Bryti will swap today's dinner for something quick using what you already have at home. No need to run to the shop. The dinner you planned for today will move to another day.
Omelette and potatoes tonight, from what you already have at home. You don't need to buy anything new. The cod waits for Thursday.

Your receipts fill the pantry and put prices on the list.

Mission 03 · Tuesday, the supermarket

One child pushes the cart into the shelves, the other asks for sweets, and you try to remember the list.

The shopping list is made for you. One trip takes care of the whole week.

Everything you need for dinner goes on one list. If you're out of milk or kitchen roll, just add it to the same list. Anything you already have at home is kept in a separate section, so you won't buy it twice. Before you head out, you can see about how much the trip will cost. Everyone in your household sees the same list. You won't need to stop by the shop every day.
Five things to buy for the week's dinners. You probably have potatoes already, so they sit on their own line.

Mission 04 · Home again

The shopping bags are on the counter. Someone got hungry and opened the crisps already.

Take a photo of your receipt. Bryti keeps track of what you've got.

After your shopping trip, take a photo of the receipt. Bryti reads it and adds everything to your pantry, from the fridge to the back of the cupboard. As you cook, items come off the pantry. Anything close to its expiry date gets used first next week. Bryti also learns the prices at your usual shops. If you turn on anonymous sharing, you can see average prices from other families, without any names or store addresses.
The photo is chosen. Bryti reads the lines. A long receipt can be split over several photos.

Your recipe book is yours alone.

Mission 05 · Grandma's fish gratin

Grandma's fish gratin used to be on a stained page in a ring binder in the kitchen drawer. Now, it's saved in the recipe book on your phone.

Keep all your family's recipes in one place.

You can paste a link from a website, snap a photo of a cookbook page or Grandma's handwritten card, or type the recipe in yourself. Bryti will do its best to turn it into a recipe. If something isn't right, you can fix it. Only your family can see the recipe, and Bryti can include it when planning your week.
A photo of the card is enough. Bryti reads the ingredients and the method.

Mission 06 · Quarter to five

There's homework on the table, the pot is boiling, and your youngest wants to help.

Cook one step at a time.

Cook mode shows one step at a time in large text, so you don't have to scroll with sticky fingers. The screen stays on while you cook. Tick off the ingredients as you get them out. Finished steps are crossed out as you go. Where it helps, a step includes a short tip from Bryti. When you're done, mark dinner as made, and the recipe will track how many times you've cooked it.
One step at a time, in big text. The screen stays on while you cook.

All Bryti needs from you is a message on Sunday and a photo after the shopping trip.

Is it right for us?

It's for families who cook dinner at home most days.

Built and tested in Norway

We build and test Bryti with families in Norway. The recipes are in Norwegian. The shops and prices are Norwegian too, and the dietary advice comes from the Norwegian Directorate of Health. If you live somewhere else, the rest of Bryti works just the same, in English or Norwegian. As we grow, we may expand to other countries too.

Good to know

How Bryti plans

Bryti uses the Norwegian dietary guidelines as a starting point and plans your week around your house rules. It checks prices from your receipts, such as the cost of cod. If a price is missing, Bryti uses the store's own price. If you choose to share prices anonymously, it can also use what other families have paid.If you add an allergy, the planner checks the ingredients in every dish. Meals with that allergen are left out for the week. Still, make sure to check the packaging yourself. If you write “preferably not Friday”, the planner treats it as a wish. In a busy week, it might not stick to it, but it will let you know when that happens.By default, you confirm any changes you request in the chat. For example, if Ola writes “swap Thursday for tacos”, he can accept or reject the change right away. In the settings, you can allow Bryti to make safe changes automatically, like planning the week or swapping a dinner. You can also choose to let it handle everything without asking.

What we promise about your data

Your data belongs to you. Nothing is sold or used to train anyone else's model. You can download or delete your data at any time. Photos of receipts or cupboards are deleted after Bryti reads them, and always within 30 days. Details from those photos, like your purchases, stay in the pantry for 180 days. After that, Bryti only keeps what is still in your pantry. If you share prices anonymously, they are included in the average for 60 days, and only while that setting is on. Conversations are deleted 12 months after your last message.
