Keep things in order

Account and privacy

Learn how to update your name, email, and password, and find out where to download or delete your household’s information.
Your account belongs to you, but the household is shared. To update your details, go to Account in the settings. To download or delete all information, use Your data.

Name, email, password

  1. Others in your household will see your name. To change it, update the field and tap Save name.
  2. Tap Send confirmation link and open the link Bryti sends to your new email address. Your email won’t change until you open the link, but your old address will be notified.
  3. Enter your current password and a new one, then tap Change password. If you registered with Google or Apple, you’ll see Set password instead. This lets you sign in with email too, such as on your phone.

A password that has leaked

Bryti only requires your password to be at least eight characters long. It does not require capital letters or symbols. Instead, it checks your password against a list of leaked passwords. If your password is on the leaked list, the field tells you, and you need to choose a different one. This check also happens when you change your password or set a new one after forgetting it.
NoteYour password never leaves Bryti. The check only sends the first five characters of a code worked out from it, and hundreds of passwords share that code.
If the service does not respond within two seconds, Bryti will accept your password.

Forgotten password

On the sign-in page, tap Forgot your password?, enter your email, and tap Send link. The page always gives the same response, so no one can tell if an email address has an account. The link in the email takes you to a page where you can set a new password and tap Save password. If the link is expired or already used, the page will let you know and you can request a new one.

Signing out

To sign this device out, use Sign out at the bottom of the settings. A signed-out phone gets no more notifications, but your information stays with the household until you sign in again.

Download a copy

Download my data lets you download a file with all your household’s information, your account details, and your conversations. It includes dishes you marked as Not planned and products under The products you prefer, but never other people’s email addresses or their private chats with Bryti.

Delete the account

  1. Tap Delete my account. Bryti will show you what will be deleted. If you are the only one using the household, it will be deleted. If you share the household, it will stay for the others.
  2. If you are the only owner of a shared household, deletion will stop at this point. You need to make someone else the owner or remove the other members first.
  3. Enter your email address to confirm. This action cannot be undone, and all your data will be deleted within thirty days.
NoteThe owner can also delete a whole household with Delete the household on the web, once nobody else is in it and no subscription is running. People, rules, recipes, plans, lists and conversations are all deleted, but your account stays.

What Bryti keeps, and for how long

The Your data page shows how long each type of data is kept. For example, conversations are stored for twelve months after the last message. Receipts and photos you upload are kept for up to thirty days.Bryti does not sell your data, and no one else can use it to train their models.
