Home: the day and the questions

Here’s what you’ll see on Home throughout the day, starting with the morning message and ending with the question after dinner.
Each day on Home begins with a message from Bryti about the day’s plans. You’ll find the conversation below, and you can reply using Reply to Bryti… at the bottom. If there’s nothing planned for the day, Home will show No dinner planned today and guide you to check the week instead.

The question cards

If Bryti has a question, such as “Bryti wonders about two things,” you’ll see small cards below the message. Each card has two answer choices, and you can always choose “not now” if you prefer. Answering costs nothing.
  1. For example, if the evening is busy—like having handball at five and dinner takes forty minutes—Bryti asks, “Eat at 16:30 instead?” If you choose Keep the time, the dinner time stays the same.
  2. If something in the pantry, like milk, is about to expire and fits tonight’s meal, Bryti asks, “Put the milk in tonight’s dinner?” Choosing Yes, use it adds it to the meal and removes it from your shopping list. Selecting Not this time keeps everything as planned.
  3. You’ll get a reminder from the pantry with Open the pantry if something should be used soon or hasn’t been checked in a while.

The Use up card

When something needs to be used up, Bryti will ask what the week can do about it, such as “Use all of it up with 2 changes?” This is marked with Use up. Below, you’ll see lines for each day that changes, marked like “2 of 3,” and a “✓ uses” chip for each food included. If there’s a new dish, you’ll see Open the recipe below it. This lets you read the recipe before you decide.Choosing Yes applies all the changes, while Choose which opens the same list with a switch on each line, so you pick which changes to make. Both Yes and No thanks will hide the card for everyone in the household for the rest of the day. After you make changes, a green line will show what the week now uses up. There’s no Undo option, since these changes can affect three evenings at once.
NoteOnly an adult can answer Use up. A Junior sees the whole card but none of the three answers, and at the bottom it says An adult answers this one.
Your answer applies to everyone. If anyone chooses No thanks, the card will be hidden on Home, in the week, and in the chat until the next day.The card only suggests changes for the current week. If there are no evenings left to change but something needs to be used next week, the card will say what’s needed, and Next week will open the following week.On a Sunday the current week is only one day long, so there’s nothing to answer.

Shopping list shortcut

At the end of the morning message, you’ll find a link to the shopping list, such as “12 things to buy for the week’s dinners.” Below that, you’ll see the cheapest store and an estimated cost, like “Kiwi Torshov has everything · about 180 kr.”The number shows how many items are listed under Buy for all remaining dinners this week, not just tonight’s. It doesn’t include items under Check at home. If there’s nothing to buy, the link won’t appear.

Tonight’s dinner

Tonight’s card displays the dish, cooking time, number of portions, and any ingredients you still need to buy, along with Start cooking. Use Swap to see other options for the day, just like on the Week page, and More for the rest. The time strip places dinner alongside your evening events. Tap Change the dinner time or tap the time to open When are you eating tonight?. You’ll see five possible times, each with the latest start, and any tight options are marked with Tight.Choosing Just tonight changes only tonight’s dinner time. Selecting “Every Friday” sets a house rule, which you can remove on the Rules page. Use Undo to undo the change.

Afterwards

After dinner, the card will ask how it went. Just tap your answer, and the card will close, showing what happened and what’s planned for the next day.
NoteA Junior sees the cards and can answer in the chat, but the changes wait for an adult.
